On A Roll

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!! I will be seeing Bell-kun, Junkie, Sakura, Ghana Gaddezz, and (hopefully) Hyde-kun in the anime con!! Oh goody goody yay. How I miss them ^^ I don't go to anime cons, but for the sake of seeing buddies I will.

Conversation at the last anime con I attended:

GUY: Excuse me, miss. Who are you?
YAPI: Huh?
GUY: Who are you supposed to be?
YAPI: Supposed to...? Huh? Well, my name's Yapi...
GUY: Yapi? From?
YAPI: .....huh? Uh, from Quezon City?
JHELL: Yapi, he means to say which character are you. He thinks you're in cosplay.
YAPI: OH... o_O

Watched a little bit more of "The Ring". Take note that when I say "Ring" I mean the Jap, and when I say "THE Ring", I mean the US...

Latest comment on "The Ring": What's so wrong about Sadako's (Samara) mother being a humiliated psychic that they had to put horses into the story??? That's my whine for the day. The way they executed the video was rather pretty though. Meaning I found it to be very pleasing to the eye, aesthetically speaking. Like it would be a nice design for a webpage. Haha, suddenly I remember the scene in "Ring 2" where the lead was actually at the place where Sadako's mom was brushing her hair and she started walking. Freeeeeeeaky XD And while I was watching it, Mich kept texting me , "Sadako's gonna get you! Sadako's gonna get you!!!!"

Oh man, that scene where they were climbing up the well (in "Ring 2") was a total screamer. To my surprise, the bad effects actually made it scarier...

*Takes a look at last post's comments*

...You're not reading. It's not that I don't like it because I'm not scared because I already know what will happen. I'm talking about execution and plot changes. There you go again.

Another Example of the "You Can't Please Everybody" Syndrome

And the displeased is me :P I've been looking so forward to seeing the US Version of "Ring" ever since I heard about it. I thought to myself that maybe just this once I'll have an open mind and actually look forward to something Americanized instead of spitting on it before it even came.

But before reading on, let me make it clear that I don't think Americans suck. I just think that AmericanIZED things suck. Just like everything else is IZED by whatever country it wasn't originally in. Americanized anime and Americanized Japanese movies suck. Nickelodeon cartoons dubbed in Japanese suck. Japanese songs sung in Filipino suck uber flying vacuums (if you've never heard any, kneel down and say thanks to the Lord NOW). So it's not racism, I just like things in their pure form, okay? Don't get mad.

If you're mad anyway, well, guess what, this is my blog, not yours. Haha.

ANYWAY. My brother brought home a bootleg copy of the US Version of "Ring", called "THE Ring". Hahaha. Sorry, for some reason it's funny for me :P Like I said, I was pretty excited to see it, but once I popped the vcd into the player....

Man, is it just me, or does the damn thing drag on like nothing? They added scenes, gave the little boy some psychological problem, and the girls aren't cute at all. Well, I can't give the thing a full review, just my first impression, because I only watched until they showed how the first victim looked like. Why? Because the entire beginning just dragged on I got so bored I thought I'll just stick around until I see how the victims look like then finish it tomorrow (or maybe just watch at least 15 minutes more). Actually, I wanted to stick around until they show the video tape, but I was too bored to stick around.

The way the victim looked was kinda creepy though, which was good. Although I don't know if I screamed because I got scared or if I screamed because my sister-in-law screamed. I have trouble distinguishing where my fear comes from, but usually, when I'm with someone who's scared, I get scared too (which is the reason why I prefer to watch horror movies alone, to see if it's actually the movies that's scaring me, instead of my companion). Buy I still thought it was good.

BUT, I still like the way the original version executed the victim, because they did it without make-up and effects. It was just the actor's face in an angle that made it horrifying. I think that shows more talent on the Director's part.

Tomorrow, I'll watch until they show the video tape. And if it picks up from there, maybe I'll at least watch until they explain where Sadako's (or whatever her US counterpart's name is) explained...

Does anyone know if they plan to make US remakes of ALL 3 Rings? If they are, THEY BETTER GET SOMEONE AS CUTE AS YUKIE NAKAMA TO PLAY SADAKO.

Kurooooooooooo!

I got a black wig!!! Hee hee hee. I was starting to forget how I looked like with black hair, so last Friday, I bought one. So happy, so happy.

...Nothing else to say since the party never stops at lola's house... Unfortunately, it's not exactly what you'd call revving. BUT at least my lola's crowd isn't the wierd smelling, trumpet-music dancing granny types. My lola just has a buffet table set up and everyone just sits around chatting and eating. Me, well, my brother was kind enough to let me keep the PS2 for a while so I bring my dinners there. Got Kingdom Hearts today. Mmm... I might not sleep tonight...

With that, I leave you with a quiz...

schoolgirl
What's your sexual appeal?

brought to you by Quizilla

....Hmmm... No matter how much I change my answers around I keep getting the same result O_o You know, like you could be four in a choice of six, and I tried different combinations of my different choices and... I'm still a schoolgirl. Oh well, fine. Kinda true except for the panty flashing part (Although I did have to learn the hard way that if I wear a short light material skirt on a windy day, I'm gonna be doing that wether I like it or not... Never again, I swear... I got myself some mini under shorts that very same day.)

Speaking of short skirts, I picked up a fashion book on Ganguro girls!!! Oh how cute are the outfits! But still, that make-up kills me...
